Vaca Barn
I captured this Vacaville barn many years ago and found it as I did a review of some of my older work. What caused me to review this image was the fact that the hill on the right side of the barn is currently on fire. They are calling it the Wragg Fire as the fire started near Wragg Road. At the time that I am tyong this, the Wragg Fire has burned more than 7100 acres but is now 80% contained.
The area is vulnerable to fires as we get such little rain between the end of May and late October.
So on another note, the word Vaca means cow in Spanish so the town I live in, Vacaville, translates to Cow Town. The real name of Vacaville Is in honor of the Vaca family, the original homesteaders that settled the area.
