Amazing work Ken!!! V/F

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Sandra! I had a tough time getting the vertigo effect I wanted for this one but I think it finally worked out.

Absolutely beautiful! I've noticed too that sometimes the work we post, is altered by the scanning or computer resolution. Glad you found a solution. I'm still looking for one. Again, wonderful work. Seems like you're sticking with florals lately----I can see why----you're having too much fun! ha

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Diane! I am definitely having a great time with these florals!

a favorite, Ken. Really lovely.

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Laura! I think it looks much better now that it has been re-scanned!

Gorgeous!!

Ken Powers replied:

Nothing short of stunningly beautiful.

Vertigo Rose is the perfect title for your perfect painting.

You are really getting on to these florals, Ken! Beautiful work, as always. So much light and shadow all in the same color tones - excellent! Wish I could have seen your show.

Artist's Description

The concept of this piece was to create an hypnotic vertigo spiral while incorporating rose petals. I had a little trouble balancing the center of the piece with the two concepts while still maintaining a somewhat realistic rose but I am pleased with the end result. The piece is painted with Winsor & Newton and Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paints on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The coarse nature of the paper coupled with the Rublev paints created some interesting textures in the petals and shadows of the rose. The original painting is 21.75"x14.25" in size.
