This eight image panoramic image was taken on Norfolk Island looking towards Point Hunter with Phillip Island in the background. The cemetery on the right has a historic element in that many of the graves in the foreground are those of convicts many of them executed during the second British Settlement around 1830-1850. There is one mass grave just outside the boundaries of the cemetery said to contain the bodies of 13 convicts executed in the one incident. The Commandant at the time thought he would teach all a lesson by placing the bodies of the Protestants (including Freemasons) at the bottom of the hole, the Roman Catholics were placed on top of the Protestants and the remainder, possibly non believers, placed on top of the former. Quite a statement I am told.
