This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

Marx's devotion to photography has spanned more than half a century. First becoming interested in photography as a child, by the time he was entering his teens, Marx was printing his black and white photographs in a darkroom setup in his bathroom. Once in high school, Marx had access to the school's darkroom as a member of the journalism club. After high school Marx moved to Boston to attend the New England School of Photography (NESP). His stay at NESP was brief, however, as the school's focus at that time was on commercial photography and Marx's passion was fine art photography.
