Artist's Description
As the days grow colder, ice becomes more a part of the scenery here in the Pacific Northwest. Working its winter magic, ice has a way of transforming even every day objects and plants into fascinating, often unreal looking art forms. This young willow tree coated in ice, and bathed in bits of sunshine, takes on an almost enchanted appearance.

On a sad note. After a severe wind storm about a week after this shot, the whole top half of this little willow was snapped off. I'm grateful I was able to see it beautifully encased in ice. It'll take years of healing and growing for the top to fill out again.
