This limited edition bronze relief is available in three formats: Unmounted, Mounted, or Mounted and Framed. For more information, please click the Contact button. WILD TRILLIUM AND CRANEFLY; Deep in the shadows of the mountain pines, tucked in a small rocky ravine that flows into the beaver pond, a single white trillium blooms. I stop to sketch, noting the delicate and harmless cranefly hovering silently in the quiet, scented air. Returning to my studio, I create a small clay relief sculpture of flower and insect. Here it is cast in lost-wax bronze with ferric, white, and green patinas.
About Dawn Senior-Trask
I have been an artist since I was knee high to a short-horned locust. My dad, Willoughby Senior (FAA) was a professional artist and writer and I have stepped in his shoes since I was born, though he drew horses better than I did when I was a kid. My family lived in a hand-hewn log cabin we built ourselves in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and had no water or electricity. I love my life with my husband and family in Wyoming among the horses, gophers, deer, antelope, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and the wild landscape. My work is driven by the land, animals, wild plants and birds I have come to know so well. Hummingbirds still try to get nectar from my upturned fingers. My artwork consists of all these things and more...
