This is my first painting of 2013 titled "Wood Fired".
The original is a 18x24 on canvas and created with acrylics.
Fell in love with pizza as a kid and every Friday for
the last decade or so my family makes homemade pies.
Who doesn't love pizza? For years I have been
planning to build an outdoor wood-fired oven so I can
create that perfect margherita pizza with char on the
crust. The painting was created with various blending
and warm colors to make this look like a clay shell around the
oven with bright tiles and glow in the background.
Think I wore out my filbert brush on this one.
Hope this one makes you hungry as I hung this
in our kitchen!
IT engineer by day and fineart acrylic painter by weekend. I recently started painting again in early 2012 after a long hiatus since high school. Excelled at art classes back 25+ years ago but had not touched a brush or pencil until I decided to paint a picture with my son for school...instantly hooked again!
My current medium is acrylic paint on stretched canvas via brush, spatula, sponge or whatever achieves the effect I want to achieve.
No computer based digital paintings, just old school painting as that is what interests me the most. Subject matter is all over the map but my love for fishing, travel, a fresh Neapolitan pizza pie and beach life are my current inspirations that I try and capture on canvas.
