Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Artist's Description

Colorized photo from around 1914
Original Title: Mfr. dolls of bass wood
Location: Philidelpha, Pennsylvania (I think)

After doing some research, I believe this is a workshop of the Schoenhut Doll company. There were other images that had the same look from the same batch. One picture said the location and i did a search with what I found. The year is just a guess based on the dolls they made. I found a similar doll shape online and then just used a fudge factor.

My workmen always have blue overalls and pink shirts. I based this on research from the 30's where they wore that, and I figure fashion trends for guys last a pretty long time (I would say they change their look every 50 years or so). Pink wasn't a feminine color back then.

About Mike Savad

Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
