This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

Artist's Description
Wormsloe Plantation is a very popular and iconic place to visit when you are in Savannah GA area The beautiful old gate and concrete arch, the live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, what's not to love? For one, all the cars! I had to wait until it was closed for the day before I could get a shot with the gates closed and no cars visible in the parking area on either side just inside the gate! I also worried about driving down the road inside the gates since it had been a dry dusty span of time, wondering how much of the dust the trees can take before it affects their health. The avenue beyond the gate leads to the tabby ruins of Wormsloe, the colonial estate of Noble Jones (1702-1775). (Tabby is a type of concrete made with oyster shells). Jones was a humble carpenter who arrived in Georgia in 1733 with James Oglethorpe and the first group of settlers from England. Wormsloe's tabby ruin is the oldest standing structure in Savannah. A testament to the opportunities that existed in early...
About Joan Carroll
Protected with PIXSY About Joan Carroll: I am a Fort Worth Texas-based outdoor photographer who feels at home while on the road...in Texas, in the US, around the world. Wherever I go I want to walk every street, hike every trail, ride the bus or metro, climb every tower, walk around and through every monument, and then do it all over again when the light changes. In every place, light, mood, color, and...

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
