I am a native of Washington and love the Northwest. I live in Spokane with my husband Glenn and am the mother of seven grown children, two grown step-children, and grandmother to an even dozen until September, when number 13 will arrive..
I began painting in oils as a teenager but put aside my brushes to raise a large family. In 1988 I fell in love with watercolors. I have a degree in Graphic Design and have taken watercolor classes from Stan Miller and MariAnne Figgins. I am a member of the Spokane Watercolor Society. I love the flow of the paint beneath my brush and paint as often as I can. I paint landscapes, florals, and some wildlife. I also have a series I call Shattered Reality in which I play warm colors against cools and darks against lights to create interesting collages of form and vibrant color.
Painting is as important to me as breathing. I retired at the end of March '09 and hope to increase the amount of studio time I put in. If my paintings bring happiness to others then I have accomplished my goal.
I have shown in several galleries in Washington and Oregon, had a number of one-person shows as well as group showings, and have paintings in collections nation wide.
