My background is in printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculpture. I have been making art for the last thirty plus years in several media types. I like to work with common things we see every day, landscapes and landmarks, animals, still life's, people, plant life. I have been a wood working design educator and I have a building background which allows me to build art into architectural surroundings. I like working on woodcuts, etchings, and painting, sometimes I hire myself out on custom carving projects. My work has been juried in regional, national, and international shows. I show at competition shows here in Michigan like the Grand Rapids Art Prize, the Muskegon Regional Show, the Midland Area Art Show, The Ann Arbor Print Show and as far away as the Kyoto International Woodcut Show in Japan. Lately I have been studying some of the Polish printmakers from the mid 20th century, and some of the modern printmakers of today. I also am drawn to realism, and at times photo-realism. Yet I am still attracted to the impressionist and expressionist periods.
