RENOT is an instinctive painter, entirely self-taught, growing in character and control over 50 years of métier. Strong colors tempered by artistic reflection mirror the man behind the brush. From this confrontation between impulse and restraint grow artworks; sometimes difficult; at others, magnificently insolent. Always voluptuous. Whatever! The RENOT STYLE exists. It is undeniable and that's what matters!

RENOT est parti en guerre contre la rigidité. Ses thèmes sont inspirées par la vie, les humeurs et les moments, les lieus et les gens. Tout est interprété avec sensibilité, légereté et ironie.
RENOT est un artiste instinctif. Complètement auto-didacte, ayant forgé le cractère et la puissance de son art sur plus de 50 ans de métier. Beschwôrer von Bewegung, Frauen, Lebe.. Spannungsgeladen, lebendig, prâgnant. Sein Pinsel rast ûber die Leinwand. Er zergliedert sein Objekt bis zur Abstraktion, damit es sich auf ganz eigentûmliche Weise wieder zusammensetzt.
RENOT erklärt dern starren de Krieg. Seine Themen werden von der Welt als Ganzes inspiriert. Stimmungen und Momente. Orte und Leute. Alle werden mit sensibilitât, Leichtigkeit und eimner gewissen Ironie interpretiert.
Der Autodidakt RENOT malt mit Instinkt. Seine personlichkeit und Beherrschung seiner Kunst entwickeln sich seit über 50 Jahren im Metier immer stârker. Kräftige Farben, abgedämpft durch künstlerische Reflektion, geben den Mann hinter dem Pinsel wieder. Aus seiner Konfrontation zwischen Impulsivität und Zurückhaltung entstehen Kunstwerke; bisweilen schwierige, bisweilen wunderbar anmaßende. Aber immer sinnlich.

Renot News, April 2008
Recent recognition for Cupertino resident Bernard Renot, should come as no surprise. This instinctive painter, born in France (Lyon, 1935) but choosing California as home since 1985 is ceaselessly challenging himself: 'because art is about continual growth and discovery.'
Renot was invited to present his work in Toulon, South of France, at the Musée du Vieux Toulon, in a solo Musuem Exhibit, September 2007 to February 2008.
Subsequent successful participation in New York's International ArtExpo, March '08 was closely followed by a show in Ridgewood, NJ, April '08, at Artis Gallery's inaugural reception, showcasing international artists. Some paintings were even sold to private collectors, prior to the official show opening.
In addition to this painting, Renot has illustrated a book of poems and has written a treatise to help traditional artists understand and appreciate that they can create original art with a computer. His paintings have been included in two recently published art books alongside modern masters, such as Monet, Gauguin and Picasso.
