Betty was born in Spokane, WA. Her family moved to Miami, Fl early in her life and she resided there until 1975. Betty married Ted Guyer in 1963 and they have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family moved to the mountains of NC in 1975. Betty and Ted retired in 2007 and moved to Ocala, FL.

Betty started painting in 1985 while living in the mountains. Betty is self taught. She primarly paints with modified oils on watercolor paper. Her favorite paintings are landscapes, seascapes and flowers. Although she really loved painting the mountains and lakes of the Carolinas, she now enjoys painting the beautiful scenery and flowers of Florida. She has recently started a series of paintings of Florida Lighthouses.

Betty has sold her work to mainly private collectors. Her work has also been sold and displayed in giftshops and Cooperatives. Betty does original paintings which are matted and framed along with signed and matted prints, note cards, post cards and calendars.
