About Bruce Gourley

Winning the Grand Prize in the 2014 Yellowstone Park Foundation's 'Capturing Wonderland' photo contest has been a great honor. My photography focuses on light, patterns, colors and mood to tell stories of nature and of human creations. Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park and Jekyll Island State Park are among my favorite places, but each year I seek out new places to explore and photograph in an ongoing journey stretching from coast to coast and from North to South, capturing landscapes, wildlife, history and ordinary items in striking ways. Asked to describe his experience in Yellowstone National Park, Gourley noted: "I first visited Yellowstone in 1987 ... From May to October, I'm in the Park weekly, camera in hand. The wildness and variety I never tire of, whether on a trail or from the roadside. And I've enjoyed getting to know so many people over time -- rangers, concessionaire empl...
