I am a travel and nature photographer based in Shropshire in England. I have been taking pictures as my hobby for many years but have recently taken a chance and gone full time. I love the medium as it allows me to express my self creatively. Art is something that we all love, have an opinion on and is very personal, it is the subjective of subjective areas of our lives and this creates huge diversity in the types of work available. Thats why I love art in general, trying to find that perfect peace is so much fun, I only hope people love my work as much as I do creating it.
I work in two greneral areas, my travel is almost exclusively urban and coastal evening and low light shots. The magic twilight hour produceds some of the most amazing images with vast ranges in colour and so has to be the best time to produce photographs for art images. The coast has some amazing natural sunsets with the water a dramatic landscape that can be found there and our urban world has such a vast range of shapes and artificial lights that combined with the natural can creat some amazing images.
My other area is nature, and to be more exact macro close up images. Macro images are very highly focused close up images that can photograph very small subjects in ultra high detail. This involves a lot of patience and an ability to calmly look for hours to find your subject. As the things I photograph, such as butterflys, bees, wasps and flowers, are very small it can take a while to find them andthey tend to fly off just at the moment you are close enough to photograph them. This is the best part of this work, its very relaxing and the images it produces are stunning.
