Hello, and welcome to my art gallery.
If you'd like to follow some progress on my artwork, please see my blog: StratoArt Blog
My name is Dale Jackson. I am a traditional as well as digital artist. I have been drawing and painting with pencils, colored pencils, acrylics and pen & ink for over 30 years. With regard to digital art I started that in the mid 1980's with the Commodore 64, and this field has certainly come a long way in the last 30+ years. I love both traditional and digital media.
Today I produce original digital works of art as well as digitally enhanced pieces where I transform photography into paintings. I love to digitally paint aircraft, landscapes, seascapes and many other subjects as well. I also produce acrylic and oil paintings, photographed or scanned in as prints. In addition, I draw with traditional pencils and with pen & ink and I even do some technical illustration.
I've always had a love for aviation. I grew up around planes on USAF bases and often spent afternoons with my sketch book drawing them. When I was out of college I entered the USAF and was a crew chief on the KC-135. I'm particularly fond of military aviation, historical and modern. For me, drawing and painting aviation art is a burst of nostalgia and a history lesson. I'm honored to have had the opportunity to do some 'nose art' on various USAF aircraft, and more recently to have had a couple of my pieces chosen to hang in both Hill Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field Air Force Base.
Professionally, I am blessed to be the full-time print and motion graphic artist for Living Waters Publications / The Way of the Master. It is a dream and honor to work for a ministry that is passionate about the proclamation of the clear Gospel of Christ.
