I have been drawing and painting ever since I was old enough to hold a crayon, much to the heartbreak of my mom's freshly painted walls! In 2009, I dipped my toe into the wonderful world of digital photography. As a journalism student, I am taking classes to hone my artist's eye as it relates to photographs. I have taken photos that have surprised me in their beauty and simplicity, while others have found the trash bin to be their home.
After 20 years in the IT field, I decided to go back to school and study journalism. It was through my work at VSU that I found photography to be my calling. Working on the school newspaper, I took a variety of different styles and subjects of photos. My favorites are the sports photos. There's something about having a court-side seat that makes you feel the excitement, be it at a football, softball, or lacross game. During a photojournalism assignment, I found that my eye for nature is being developed in ways that I never thought possible. Since I have always felt that education is a life-long experience, I am constantly evolving and using old skills to develop new ones.
I hope that these skills are reflected in my photography and artwork. Thanks for taking a moment to learn a bit about me.
