Born in Montreal and now living in Oakville, Ontario, I am mainly self-taught but have also taken art classes at Sheridan College. Before a career in banking took over I was a stay-at-home mum and dabbled in oil painting. Only when I retired did I begin painting again - this time in earnest. I have always loved the transparency of watercolour paintings and so I began painting solely in this medium. Then I discovered Pan Pastels and I now take commissions to paint pet portraits in this wonderful medium. Recently I have been drawn to Alcohol Inks for their vibrancy and jewel-like tones. The inks permit me to blend looseness with detail - my preferred combination.
Painting is my attempt to express the joy I find in Nature. Be it a landscape that I find particularly moving or animals that capture my heart… it is all intrinsically beautiful. My goal is to reveal the spirit of Nature so that all may enjoy.
