Scottish artist Ian Goodall created the Iconic Design Gallery in 2007 to promote and sell his own original artwork based on Iconic figures from Film, Music and Popular Culture and since that time has sold his work throughout the UK and Abroad.
The inspiration for his portraits usually comes from a song lyric, film title or popular cultural event. He then carefully chooses the subject and style of the painting to highten the mood of the piece.
Using the highest quality Acrylic paint and canvases, he takes many hours to select and draw the initial image by hand to determine the most effective balance of composition. He then chooses the colours that will further enhance the vibrancy and mood of the image before finally applying paint to canvas.
While Ian's work can be referenced to that of the Pop Art movement of the 1960’s he reintroduces us to this popular style in a new Millennium with his own unique composition and palette.
