I have spent my whole life creating different forms of art, from designing and building my kitchen to restoring my Plymouth Valiant. I would classify my style of paintings as photo realism. I prefer to work from pictures I've taken and always have my camera with me where ever I go. I like my paintings to have a focal point that is easily seen from a distance. A certain aspect that will draw your eyes to a specific part of the painting first. I studied graphic design in college and discovered quickly I prefer things to be symmetrical or have a certain balance. I think this helps to create a layout that makes sense visually and is pleasing to the eye. Of course the subject matter comes into play. When I paint a motorcycle its not just a static object, I try to amplify the expressions and movement that is going on in that moment. I mostly concentrate on Acrylic Paintings on Canvas. I have a degree in Graphic Design from George Brown College, but I ended up working in IT for 20 years. I have since retired from IT and am focusing on my Art.
I love capturing the small fine details of a subject and my paintings have a crisp and clear quality that you won't find anywhere else! Whatever the chosen subject might be (cars, pets, portraits, action paintings, flowers or landscapes) I bring it to life!
