Marta Lillian Giraldo was born in Medellin, Colombia. She is the daughter of a Pianist and a clothes designer/artist. She constantly grew up in an art atmosphere. As she grew up her father had her start piano lessons, she wasn't interested in playing piano. She wanted to become an artist like her mother. 'I love music & piano', hence music always appears within her paintings. She had always been painting since she was a little girl but begun taking lessons as the age of 13. Then she started to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming an artist. In 1976 she began to study the arts in the Academy of Superior Arts. Then in 1979 she enrolled in the National University of Colombia to take more lessons in Arts for a few more years.
In 1983 Giraldo came to the United States with the purpose to expand her art, but life changed her plans as she became a mother of twins in 1984. Giraldo set aside her plans for the next few years to raise her newly born twins. However she still painted when she could. Another few years later she found the opportunity to work in an Art Studio in 1993, where she gained more of her experience today. Currently she’s still developing and painting her own wonderful creations.
