A retrospective of over 25 years, Ruth Devorah has created works of art using various styles and techniques on paper, canvas, burlap, muslin and linen. 'When I begin a piece, whether I'm working with acrylics, oils, colored pencils or pen and ink, it's intuitive and very spontaneous. I have nothing specific in mind ... I go where my feelings take me. My hands react to the medium I use. When creating a collage composition, it's the same. I love the immediacy of being able to add and change.' As a native New Yorker Central Park is her playground where she photographs and paints nature scenes. From her design studio she produces unique and distinctive works of art ... some of which are applicable to surface designs. Ruth studied life drawing and fine arts illustration at the Art Students League and printmaking at the Manhattan Graphics Center.
