Carolyn Anderson (b. 1969) is a recent graduate from the University of Maine at Presque Isle where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Art Education as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She grew up in Houlton Maine and currently resides in Littleton with her three children.
Photography has always been a passion of Carolynís since she was very young. Carolynís interests in art began to grow after attending art classes. Acrylic painting became another passion.
Carolynís work centers on the old and the abandoned. Her senior art thesis explored life and aging through photographs of an old abandoned home. For Carolyn beauty does not hold an interest as much as the bizarre and broken.
Currently Carolyn is working with mixed media collage and exploring other art mediums such as photo transfer and watercolor. She just finished her first book titled ďAs Time Goes ByĒ which features the images from her series of the same name.
Submitting work to gallery exhibitions around the state has earned Carolyn Honorable Mentions and Special Recognition awards. Carolyn has also made her presence known online through a blog (artbycarolynanderson.blogspot.com), Facebook page, shootproof gallery as well as submitting images for sale on fineartamerica.com and publishing her book on amazon.com. Locally Carolynís work can be seen at Morning Star in Presque Isle and Visions in Houlton.
