About Linda Smith

Welcome to my Fine Art America galleries! My name is Linda C. Smith and I am a native Californian currently living and working in northern California. As an artist I consider myself a “colorist” because, for me, the passion is manipulating color - whatever medium I'm working in. I attended Eastern Michigan University and then the University of Oregon where I got my BA. Currently I work in fine art mosaics, digital art and creative photography. Each medium offers a unique challenge to expressing what I see in Life – color. You can learn more by visiting my website at www.LindaCSmithFineArt.com

I have a yearlong project which began October 14, 2013 I've titled PICTURE A DAY. You'll find a gallery here with the same name. I invite you to visit and see what my camera and artistic tools come up with each day.

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandfather was a painter – he worked in oils and loved to paint both California seascapes and California missions. His style was realistic and it came as a surprise to us both that I would be attracted to the abstract.
