Hanging the Moon is a working art studio centered downtown in the quaint foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Shelby, North Carolina. The artists, Mary Sparrow Smith and Geoff Robles, create fine works of art ranging from heartwarming paintings to digital photographs and reclaimed steel pieces of furniture.
Mary Sparrow Smith, a professional artist, has been painting portraits, animals, and other subjects for nearly 20 years. Her professional art career started as a graphic artist and illustrator for the arts and entertainment magazine in Raleigh, NC. She soon ventured out on her own, working closely with designers to paint Trompe-l'œil murals and furniture. For the last 15 years, Mary's emphasis has been on portraiture of both adults and children.
Mary's artwork and success is recognized around the world by happy customers from 26 countries.
