Welcome to my website.
Having worked abroad for nearly 20 years, I deeply appreciate the many cultures that I have known. Photography leads me to explore my world more deeply. I look for details and patterns in a scene and I love to connect with people who reflect their culture. From the beaches of Florida to the mountain villages of northern Vietnam, my images are intended to convey to the viewer the emotional impact I felt in that locale.
I am a self-taught photographer who has participated in photographic workshops in each community where I have lived. In the 1980's, I taught black and white darkroom photography to high school students at Karachi (Pakistan) American School and collaborated with other expatriates in starting the International Photography Club in that city. In 2008, I organized the Hanoi International Women's Club Annual Photography Show at the Hotel Sofitel in Hanoi, Vietnam. While living in Annapolis, Maryland, I concentrated on printing my own black and white photos.
Since moving to Southwest Florida in 2004, I have leapt into the world of digital photography and computer processing, with all its possibilities for artistic expression. I use the technology to combine my photography with graphic elements, and in some cases hand painting, to create fine art pieces.
Check out the News Section of this website to find the shows where I have exhibited, along with awards I've won. The Galleries have photos by category, such as 'Vietnam.' Enjoy exploring my images. I would love to know how they impact you.
