Maria P Urso is a 'natural' artist originally from the state of Pennsylvania. Maria began painting and sketching as a young child as she watched her talented father draw and sketch his own cartoon-like characters. His deep love of animals wild and domestic was passed on to Maria as a child as she loved to help her father work and care for the animals on her grandparent's land. Among the crops that were sewn, were four huge greenhouses, full of beautiful flowers. It was a way of living in those years and customers traveled distances to purchase from the family that they came to know and trust.
A total of 6 years of art and art history, Maria always had her own unique way of capturing life; for life is an art in itself. From playing the piano and guitar in her younger years, to ceramics, embroidery, crocheting, and needlepoint, she always found a way to keep busy with those things she loved most to do. She has a deep and sincere love of animals and nature, some friends may call her 'obsessed'. Her favorite breeds of dogs are those wrinkled laiden, squared, chubby muzzles (boxers, boston terriers, English bulldogs, French bulldogs, etc..). Her favorite wild animals are the wild cats and wolves. Regardless, there has never been a time that a stray or hurt animal hasn't been taken in, love and cared for and set free again or found a forever home for.
She has traveled much of the United States and lived in Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Illinois, Texas and currently Alabama, but no matter where she lived her canine companions were always by her side in everything she did. From riding horses through the canyons of the Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque, New Mexico to fun on a sunny beach somewhere or hiking the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee and Alabama, her life has been fulfilled as Maria's adventurous spirit traveled onward throughout the years and will continue on forever more.
