art has always been my passion, and 9 years ago I gave up my career in nursing and social care to pursue a career as a full-time artist. Although self-taught, in 2010 I returned to college to study Art & Design in order to extend my skills to include digital art, animation, film-craft and photography, but painting remains my first love.
I work from my home studio in Lanarkshire, where my diverse work ranges from boldly-coloured portrayal of emotion in oils and acrylics to monochromatic portraits in pencil and charcoal, with nature and landscapes as my 'relaxed' work.
My 'emotion' work is drawn from personal experience and highlights the feelings, issues, contradictions, judgements etc. etc of modern living, especially those effecting the modern woman. Some of these can be quite dark, but by injecting colour and lightness I hope to make them less feared and scarey, and more human/normal/accepted/recognised !!!
