Aimee K. (Wiles) Banion is the owner of High Tide Gallery LLC in St. Augustine, FL, which showcases the creative talents of 40 Local Fine Art and Craft coastal artists and is a top-rated 'Things To Do' TripAdvisor attraction. Aimee holds degrees in Journalism and Fine Art from the University of Florida. She is also a seaglass jewelry artist and documentary wedding photojournalist in St. Augustine.
Until 2005, Aimee was a staff photojournalist with the Rochester, N.Y. Democrat and Chronicle Newspaper, which in 1997 was the first U.S. newspaper to become fully digital. She worked as a photojournalist at various newspapers in New York and Florida for the past 20 years (including being the first female photographer hired in 100 years at the Schenectady, NY Daily Gazette). Her experience includes coverage of breaking news, business, sports, lifestyles, studio illustration and international investigative assignments (China, Canada).
Aimee has won numerous regional and national awards for her photography from the National Press Photographers Association, the Associated Press, Society for News Design and the Enterprising Women's Leadership Institute. Aimee has also served as a juror for the National Press Photographers Association and art festivals in New York and Florida.
