My name is Alaina Ferguson, a 24 year old artist from Colorado. I am self-taught and specialize in realism using charcoal and pastels.
I feel that every portrait I create is a chance to meet someone new, every scene a place I feel I already know. No matter the subject, I believe there is heart and soul in all of it.
My art is about learning the soul of a man I'll never meet by drawing every wrinkle his life gave him. It's about going places I may never visit or in many cases do not even exist.
I have found my home in realism because of the challenge to capture true life in a drawing. The emotions and dreams and hopes of all people are etched in their faces, in their portraits. And I aspire to tell their story.
