Alex Suescun is a self-taught marine artist and illustrator who grew up in Miami, where he developed his deep love for the outdoors and his passion for fishing, a passion that he managed to turn into a career that spans more than 2 decades.

During that time Alex has traveled extensively, chasing after a wide variety of gamefish with a fishing rod and a camera through much of Latin America, the Caribbean, Alaska, and the gulf and south Atlantic states. He has also worn many different hats while compiling an impressive resume that includes stints as assistant editor at Saltwater Fly Fishing magazine, and field editor and columnist for Florida Sportsman, the publication where his stories and photos appeared for 11 years.

Alex also joined the ranks of pro tournament angling, and for 7 years he was among the nation’s top light tackle anglers who traveled from Texas to North Carolina competing in the Redfish Cup, an exciting saltwater tourney series created for television. Perhaps you may have seen him on ESPN.

But most people associate Alex with Tarpon Bay Tales, the TV fishing show that he produced and hosted for 10 seasons, the very show where the concept for his “Fish & Game Art” was born. Doing much of the video editing himself, Alex often incorporated his own drawings and illustrations in the show's graphics. That is how he began to fine tune his art and imaging skills to create striking pieces that capture the beauty of gamefish and wildlife, as well as the pride and joy of the anglers and outdoor enthusiasts who pursue them.

Of course, as Alex continues to venture out on the water and the field, he is constantly exposed to gorgeous scenery and memorable situations from which derive new subjects and ideas for future artwork. With such an inexhaustible source of inspiration for his 'Fish & Game Art,' Alex should have no trouble adding to his online galleries of art prints and giclees. So be sure to stop by regularly for a visit, and see what new and exciting images become available for purchase.
