Nature has always been a big part of my life. I started many years ago learning the basics with film, and creating in the darkroom. Black and white photography is the fundamental art that should be learned first! Compostition and contrast are more critical in B&W. (There is no colour to distract the artist.)
I have delved into aerial photography with large format press cameras mounted on floating davits. I've done weddings, portraits and food photography. But, I keep returning to nature. I've been lucky enough to have had my work published in national magazines.
I'm currently 100% digital and having fun with HDR (high dynamic range) photography. Although photo manipulation is a fundemental part of most photographer's toolkit, the best results are still obtained with a well taken original photograph. It's an art and a science.
