After graduating from the University of Iowa with a BBA in Marketing, I moved to the Bay Area to work an internship at the Mill Valley Film Festival. I also worked as a nanny and the last thing I expected to find while caring for a three year old child was a dormant artist inside of me. Oil crayons lead to colored pencils, charcoals, water colors, and acrylics, and within a few years I was showing my art in a dozen café-galleries in San Francisco. When my husband and I moved back to the Midwest, I saw the rural landscape with new eyes and began an Iowa farm series and soon a local gallery invited me to show my work there. I’ve painted with acrylics on windows, bark, canvas and paper, and have sold numerous works to friends and family in 15 states. I've also printed hundreds of custom note cards from the artwork. Now with 600+ paintings in my studio, timing is perfect in my life to share the work I create. It should be noted that many of my paintings are signed Alice O'Brien. In 2012 I began using my married name Allison Fauchier.
