Artist Statement
Zoomorphic, organic and plant-like shapes are most prevalent in my subject matter.
As if by means of osmosis, I have been influenced by such artists as: Eva Hesse, Terry Winters and Arthur Dove.
I am always experimenting with new materials and found objects.
By applying these new mediums, I can grow and change with my art. Thus my work can always be in flux.
Concepts are usually discovered during or after creation. My art is entirely grounded in personal growth.
The objects I create are part of a new or existing biology and/or civilization.
By allowing myself to be fluid and intuitive, organic forms seem to suddenly emerge.
I have worked in various art mediums, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and film.
Currently, my work has been directed primarily in mixed media.
