I have always been a visual person. When I was little, I would sit for hours and look at the beautiful flower photographs in my Grandmother Annie's gardening catalogs. From there, it was just a natural progression to my love for photography. I am often asked to describe my photographic style, which I find difficult to do. What I am interested in doing is evoking a mood, whether it be dreamy, mysterious, surreal or whimsical. I let the photograph speak to me. Travel is a large inspiration for my art. I am something of a gypsy, and love to roam, but my Southern roots always call me home eventually.
Recently, my work was selected for Urban Outfitter’s print shop and was featured on the popular modern design and art website, Design Milk. Some of my photographs are also featured on the home decor website, Kess InHouse - http://kessinhouse.com/pages/ann-barnes
