I am mostly a self-taught artist. I have a realistic style and enjoy doing landscapes, animals and nature.
Ever since I can remember, I have always been interested in art. I was doing paint by numbers at a very young age, I just loved to paint. I took the typical art classes in high school. I took a few college art classes to learn the skill of painting in oils and have just recently discovered other mediums. I started taking art more seriously about 25 years ago doing commission work for local equestrians horses portraits in oil. Recently I have been working in pastel and acrylic, which I feel produces a quicker result then oils.
I live in the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, its a gorgeous place for landscape painting, rural settings, horse and dairy farms and beautiful mountain vistas. Its easy to be inspired to paint when you live near such beautiful scenery, big blue skies and lush green pastures.
I would like to share my love of art and the beautiful scenery of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with as many people as I can. To appreciate nature in all its beauty.
