Thank you very much for viewing my work on Fine Art America and welcome to my profile and let me introduce you to myself,
Anne D'Alton, an Artist-Painter, of Irish descent, who has been drawing and painting since the age of three.
During my school years, I continually drew and painted (winning many prizes) and then went to Art College in Dublin where
I took my Art Teacher's Certificate, specialising in draughtsmanship, portraiture and landscapes. To-day, however, as a
professional Artist-Painter, I work in all mediums and undertake commissions for all types of subjects.
When I qualified as an Art Teacher, there wasn't much scope for teaching art in Ireland, so I studied Interior Architecture
& Design in Britain and when qualified, started teaching these subjects in a variety of schools and colleges throughout
Dublin. This lead to my setting up a very successful Interior Design Company, Andrian Interiors and later on, to founding
the National College of Interior Design & Art. I was also the founder of the Dublin School of Art. Both of these Colleges
successfully filled the gap for students who were unable to study these subjects, on a full-time basis, and who needed
a recognised qualification for their work and career prospects.
This extremely active lifestyle continued until I and my husband, Adrian ( a racing driver and a professional motor-racing
racing instructor ), decided to move to Brittany, West France for a new and less stressful (although busier than ever)
way of life. We had already purchased our french property - which demanded much of my architectural and design
skills - and were able to move in, without too much fuss. Fortunately too, we are both, french speakers.
I welcome commissions for drawings and paintings - all subjects and in all materials from greeting cards to large works..
Please Note. All my original, signed artworks, no matter how small or large, come complete, with a stamped Certificate
of Authenticity and, a detailed card documentation. I am always willing to discuss the price of an artwork with you.
In my Art Studio, I also run professional Drawing and Painting classes, on a one-to-one basis or with groups of not more
then five students, that are specifically designed to enable each student to explore their artistic potential to the full
and to achieve exciting new skills (and artworks) in drawing and painting.
My hobbies include driving rally and classic cars, gardening, and composing music for, and playing the piano.
My interests include cookery and reading.
I hope you enjoy my artwork and am always happy to advise on any queries you may have in relation to
your artwork or to answer any questions you many have about my works of art.
And, of course, If ever you are in the vicinty of Rennes, in Brittany, W. France. (we are 30 mins. drive from this beautiful mediaeval
city) you are most welcome to come and join me for a coffee and a chat and a chance to see my artworks on display in my Studio.
