Helga HedgeWalker has more than 25 years of professional experience in graphic design, illustration, book design, print design, web graphics, advertising, and packaging. When the office day is done, Helga explores the marriage of beauty and utility, of magic and life, through her creative passions, which range from fine art to folk arts.
Helga's pagan Muse inspires her to paint, create digital collages, design and execute tattoos, to hand-build ceramics and paint devotional plaques, to design cross stitch patterns, and even to paint vintage trivets and create garden artifacts featuring the sacred symbols of Nature. Her art includes a calendar, greeting cards, award-winning costumes and coloring books. She creates a magical world with her art and craft that inspires others and draws them into a bright and colorful world of meaning and possibilities. All of her works are talismans that invite others to participate in this magic.
She has created distinctive imagery and designs for many Pagan events and Festivals, including Paganicon, Sacred Harvest Festival, and the Summerland Festival. She enjoys camping, swimming, cooking, creating ritual tools, making seasonal crafts, reading good fiction and dancing when no one is looking. Her wonderful husband aids and abets her in these pursuits whenever possible, as do her beautiful children, when they are not being a handful! The cats just look cute.
Creative work and making art are offerings of Beauty to the people and to the Gods. In her own words: 'The more beauty there is to see, the more your soul is fed. The more your soul is fed, the more sacred and balanced your life will become. It is one of the paths to the center. See beauty and divinity in the people around you. Each one of them is a reflection of Goddess or God. The more you practice at seeing the beauty within them, the more beautiful they will become. The more beautiful they become, the more you will love them.'
