Art Hill Studios is the conglomeration of two working artists that also happen to be married. Danny Holzhauser and Kathleen Selig created a large blended family that includes their eight children, three horses, two dogs, and one cat. It also included the dream of selling their artwork.
Danny started photographing things as early as he could hold the camera and not drop it, inspired by such greats as Ansel Adams and John Hedgecoe; he has sold portraits, landscapes, and nature photography since the early 90’s. His artistic eye led him to a career with Church Impressions cut short by a horrible car accident. He continued to take every chance to create works on his own time.
Kathleen started drawing when she was old enough to hold a crayon and photographing animals when she was six with her first camera. She gave up that dream to raise a family. She returned to her dream, as her children became old enough to attend school and enrolled in the University of Central Missouri with a double major in Art Education and Studio Art Painting. Inspired by such great artists as Monet, Renoir, Berthe Morisot, and many more, her current inspiration has been contemporary landscape artist Peter Fiore.
Together the two have rekindled a dream to sell their own art works out of their own studio located on the family farm. The farm has always been referred to by the family as “up on the hill” which was the basis for the name of their studio. Please enjoy their art as they continue to build their dreams and embark on yet another adventure together.
