Me; my art. . . Since childhood I have been drawing, coloring, sculpting and creating various types of art. I have an insatiable need to produce art that captures the spirit of each subject as I envision it. Each one of my paintings and drawings are derived from subjects that for me, hold deep meaning. Creating also affords me a sense of peace and inner calm. I usually paint and draw in a realist style. Favorite subjects are landscapes, nature, animals and portraiture. My photographic works consist of landscapes, nature, and rustic architectural subjects. I studied fine art at University of Oregon. My art degree is in Graphic Design. I work as a Freelance Designer.

Looming above the forest tree line, the mountain had just received a fresh blanket of powder snow. The vivid smooth white texture of snow, in contrast with the rough texture of the forest tree line, gives this capture a kind of surreal crispness. Hen...

I completed this watercolor "Fall Fisher" back in 2005. I am now posting the original up for sale. I also have it available as Giclee prints and greeting cards. Thought it would be appropriate now, since it's Fall subject matter. If anyone is interes...

Forbes Road Farm watercolor

September 18th, 2010

Used another old worn sepia tone photo as reference for a painting of my Mother at the ripe age of 4. This reference photo was taken around 1935. At that time she lived off Forbes Road, near the Ohio river. Not sure if the farm was her father's or a ...

Beginning of Fall

September 17th, 2010

Ahhaah…, the beginning of fall! I love this time of year. Grab your camera and go out capturing some of natures natural color mixes. The light is special too. At this time of year light is low in the sky and shadows are at low angles toward late afte...

Let Us Remember Today

September 11th, 2010

…the towers stood proud in NY as a symbol of the strength and freedom of a country created by the unity of people from ALL races. Barbarians always wish to tear down what they themselves cannot create. Any coward can destroy something. The peopl...

Latest Watercolor

September 4th, 2010

Found this old worn sepia colored photo of my Grandfather Elmer, and his good friend Frank,-AKA,"Peaches." I used it as a reference for their figures and features. Some other elements in the painting are purely from my memory of visiting his Kent...

Latest Photo Addition

August 1st, 2010

On a recent fishing trip to central Oregon, I came across an abandoned farm house that looked as if it had been there since pioneer days. It was situated just yards from a small creek bed that still trickled with some life. The shadows from some very...

I just posted these images for sale as prints. This little dog is just as sweet and smart as she is cute! She poses like a pro top model. Wonder if Tyra would consider her for the next competition of America's Top Model? Bet she'd beat all those othe...

Remembering Mom

May 27th, 2010

It's hard to believe it's been a year today since Mom's passing. This morning Dad and I visited her. We left some nice flowers for her. So glad that I painted a portrait of her and presented it to her and Dad about two years ago. The portrait was ...
