Ash Sivils is an artist who has become synonymous with the dark, surreal, grotesque, and macabre forms of digital art. She is self taught, has learned from working alongside fellow artists and from critiques from artists such as Chet Zar and Anthony DiMichele (owner of Gallery Mezzotint). She has found her niche over the past 2 years of her art career, finding ways to bring out beauty in even the most morbid of images. Ash can be seen around Nashville taking photos of all things broken, weathered and tarnished to add textures and depth to her works.

Ash began her art career as a scenic artist for Gary Musick Productions as a traditional artist, working on stage backdrops,
movie sets and various other aspects of art production. After being in and out of the art world, she came back into art and
pursued the digital side of things. Having previously used traditional methods and supplies, she has opted to use Corel
Paintshop Pro for digital brushes and tools, rather than the plethora of photoshop programs. This program has been better for her due to being a more manual program, much like using traditional means of art medium and tools.

Recently she has worked with bands such as Lillian Axe on their album art for “Sad Day on Planet Earth” (Billboard top 200 album) and Kraftakt Electric Tremor record label. She has done cover art and portraits for numerous local musicians and her work also appears on covers such as the UK short story book “Morpheus Tales” and featured in Australia’s “Griffith Review”. Her work was displayed in September 2009 along the walls at the B-movie, underground, and trash film festival (BUTff) with John Waters as guest of honor. She was devastated not to be able to attend. Her work has also been displayed in Gallery Mezzotint in Friday Harbor, WA, and alongside many other Nashville artists with The Nashville Untitled Artist Group as well as C. Daniel Hawks Studio 83 in East Nashville, Tn
