I am originally from Milwaukee, WI where I retired as a Tax Accountant in 1993. I now live in a rural area in Central Wisconsin. I studied drawing with Shirley Erickson, a local wildlife artist after retirement. I first started painting with watercolor while vacationing in Florida in 2002 where I studied under Nova Scotia Artist Jude Cabonr Skaling. Since that time I have taken many classes, workshops, and attended many demonstrations on various methods of painting but remain true to my first love, watercolor.
In FLI am a member of the Citrus County Art Center, The Stoneridge Snowbirds Painting Group and the Citrus Watercolor Club. I exhibit at the Florida Artists Gallery and Forgotten Treasures in Floral City, and have shown in local area libraries and the Brooksville Court House Gallery. In Wi I am a member of the Rural Rembrandt Art Club currently serving as Treasurer, the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association in Madison. I exhibit at the Waupaca Art Center Gallery, the Performing Arts Center in Wautoma, and Arts of Daycholah and the newly opened Town Square in Green Lake.In both Florida and Wisconsin I exhibit in local and regional shows.
My favorite subjects are flowers and rural scenes and underwater scenes featuring game fish found in both areas where we reside. Due to my husband's love of fishing, he finds enjoyment through my participation in this way. I have also done animals and portraits of close friends. I do some acrylics, limited pastel and colored pencil as well as pen & ink and charcoal drawings. Watercolor has become my passion. I see myself as an artist in progress.
