BEE JAY is a self taught artist whose work is heavily influenced by Black American cultural & historical perspectives and the Christian faith.

She began drawing at the age of 4 and works primarily in acrylics; but also uses mixed media, fabric, and pencil. This ordained and licensed minister incorporates theological motifs in her work whenever possible as she creates paintings, greeting cards, and book, compact disk, and vehicle wheel cover designs. BEE JAY taught children's art from 1999 until 2004, but relinquished those responsibilities to pursue a Master of Divinity degree at the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, California; and is currently working to complete a Doctor of Divinity degree.
