Barbara Nesin, aka Batya Tamar, is a visual artist and educator whose recent solo exhibitions have included the National Museum of Accra, Ghana, Wilmer Jennings Gallery at Kenkeleba House in the East Village of New York City, and Dillard University in New Orleans. In addition, she was invited to exhibit her work in two collateral exhibitions of the 10th Havana Bienal (Cuba) in 2009 and group exhibitions of Caribbean Art curated by Wah Gallery at the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C., University of Virginia, and the Puck Building in New York City; in addition to numerous juried exhibitions nationally, including Holter Museum of Art (Montana), An Art Place (Chicago), Puffin Foundation (New Jersey), Urban Institute for Contemporary Art (Michigan), Ceres Gallery (SOHO, New York), and several exhibitions of the National Alliance of Artists from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
