I worked in the horticulture field for many years after attending York University to acquire a Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art. After I left the horticulture field, I found that my desire to create art returned strongly making it impossible to ignore the calling. And now those orchids, plants and landscapes have become a source of inspiration for my new direction.
I've worked with many different types of media, too many to list here; but now I concentrate mostly on painting with soft pastels with the odd coloured pencil piece and oil painting thrown in for good measure.
My influences are many, probably too many and they include a broad array of painters of the past including masters such as J.M.W Turner, John Constable, Gustave Courbet, Isaak Levitan, Ivan Shishkin, Albert Bierstadt, George Inness; and masters of the present including Richard Schmid, Clyde Aspevig, Jim Wilcox, Scott Christensen and Alexey Adamov.
