Ben is a fine art photographer/ artist combining his love of both nature/ wildlife and music into his photo art.
Living in the San Francisco Bay Area while growing up in the 1960's gave him a great fondness for Rock Music. Ben started taking his camera to shows in early 1975 and has over 6,000 images of musicians to work with. In 2008 he switched to digital photography and started taking nature and wildlife photos for a book about the natural beauty surrounding his current hometown of Spokane, Wa.
After being taught some basic fundamentals about transferring his 35mm negatives to electronic files he started the long and tedious task of transferring them...Somewhere along the way he learned some photo-shop techniques that allowed him to begin experimenting with the concept of combining his old musician images with his new nature images! Fun, Fun, Fun.....With an imagination as wild as the West and a mild interest in Aliens & UFO's there have been some rather interesting results! Then he discovered ways to alter his images through the use of contrast, color enhancement and solarization creating some rather stunning visuals.
Always searching for a way to make old images new is one of his key inspirations...
