Artist Statement
My love for nature and its beauty is my inspiration to paint. Even as a child I have always had a tender heart for the beauty of nature in the great landscapes and wildlife that God has created. I love painting from my awe of the beauty and peace I find. I hope the viewer of my impressions of what I see and feel finds the same peace.
I am an artist and instructor of fine and decorative art, with many awards and recognition. My work has been commissioned by numerous collectors throughout the United States and UK.
I am owned by three rescue dogs, one large boy that lives in the back yard and two small dogs that share the house with me. They all make sure to give me love and attention and that I get daily exercise by taking many short walks outside with them.
I love to share ideas, paint and chat with others and truly enjoy teaching and sharing my love for painting, it's relaxing and a wonderful way to get away from hectic schedules. Kind of like slipping away for a while.
In winter weather I like painting from photos of landscapes, scenery, our feathered friends and some animals, painting structures like old barns and buildings, familiar sites of local towns and towns where I have visited. Occasionally I paint saws (esp. like the old two handled cross cut saws) with tractors, American Indian scenes and farm scenes.
My favorite painting medium: Acrylic.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit and 'do' come back again! :))
