I will probably elaborate more later but at this time just typing this is difficult for me. You see I am Betty's daughter. Mom has passed away June 10, 2013. I hope to continue her work as I am somewhat of an artist. A little painting and photography. I will not change her bio as I will add to it as I add my own. I had to add this picture of 'mom and me' since this is a joint venture.
My profile/biography is very short. I love to paint and am just beginning to find my niche. I have had no formal training other than a few months of painting in two different groups. My mediums are oils and acrylics. My subjects have been mostly landscapes, sunsets, birds, flowers and recently painting with acrylics and playing with them I have seemed to lean towards the abstracts.
I have watched videos and learned a lot from them, but generally I like to photograph different subjects and use what I see and what I feel when I settle on a subject from several photos or pictures and do composites. Some of my pictures have been from some of my vacations and you will see that several are from Denmark, Canada, and locally from my own yard. I am 78 years old, descendant from Danish parents and my husband was born in Denmark where we were married and lived there for several months.
I didn't begin to paint until 1985, and then we moved to Missouri where I didn't have room for an easel and my paints. I resumed painting in 2007 when we moved to Texas and I found a lot of Artists and became involved with the Tomball Art League where I have found a lot of friends who have been a life saver for me since I was recently widowed.
