Bill Meeker, 83 years old, retired in 1987 from a thirty-four-year teaching career. He is a 1951 graduate of Central State College, now The University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. He received a B.A. degree in fine arts.
Bill has spent his lifetime pursuing an avocation of art and art-related activities. After retiring, Bill and his wife, Marge, opened their first bed and breakfast, Visages, which doubled as an art gallery.
In 1996 Bill and Marge scaled down to a much smaller house. After remodeling extensively, they opened their second bed and breakfast which they named Bit of Eden. It is located at 36th Street and Pearl Avenue in Joplin, MO.
Bill is again active in artwork and happily offers prints for sale.
