Bill Morgenstern

I live in Georgetown, Texas, near the Texas Hill Country. where I photograph nature with a creative and inspired approach. Here, the broad expanse of sky and western landscapes punctuated by details of varying subjects draw me in to explore natural abstractions.
Previously I lived in and photographed across Northwestern Ontario and northern Minnesota for over 30 years. After retiring from a career in education, I pursued interests as a nature photographer and outdoor writer living in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada.

While in the north country I photographed the natural beauty of Northwestern Ontario on a daily basis. Be it a spring fiddlehead frond, a jeweled spider web or a fall lake shore ablaze with color, these were some of the subjects that stirred my blood and inspired my creative eye. The play of light, subtlety of color and the intrigue of texture are elements I look for in subjects both past and present. The spirit of nature presented through abstract impressionism has become an important element of my current photographic image making along with a wide array of macro subjects.

I am an active member of NANPA, the North American Nature Photographers Association, and a past member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada, and the Outdoor Writers Association of America. For more information see my personal website.
